Using RB Logbook is free for the first 250 logged block hours. It is also free for students.
For professional users we offer a subscription for 50 euros per year. This includes all features, all updates, an unlimited number of devices connected and unlimited cloud storage.
When the subscription expires and is not renewed, the data and all options such as printed reports and exports remain available, but no additional flights can be logged.
Why a subscription?
Why do we use a subscription and not a one-off payment? Software is dynamic. Regular updates are required to stay current with technology and security. Furthermore, we have to provide continuous support, pay for cloud servers and storage, in addition to our regular research and development. A subscription model is the only suitable model to sustain this.

subscription, subscription, subscription!!! Why can't you just sell a product without riding the gravy train forever??
Sorry about that Tony. The subscription is a requirement for any team to survive in the modern post-PC era. Frequent (security, OS) updates are mandatory. We need to keep improving the app and also pay for the cloud storage, ACARS machine learning, third party licenses etc. etc. Any app that is not updated will be unusable after a certain amount of time.
In the old days, software would have just one update per year. They would have you buy that as a new package. We maintain a much higher update frequency of only 2 weeks(!) so that new developments are pushed to all users quickly. A team of developers is not free, so we charge a subscription, but we're charging less than the competition.
Hope this helps!
